What type of adhesive should I use?

A solvent-free, latex-resin emulsion adhesive specifically designed for the installation of most outdoor and marine carpets.  It should also be nonflammable and freeze-thaw stable (if allowed to freeze). Many are Anti-microbial protected and Green Label Plus Approved.

Marine and Exterior Adhesive is recommended for the following installations:

On Carpets and Artificial Turfs that are Rubber-Backed (Marine, Waffle, Foam), Non-Backed (Tufted or Woven) or Woven Polypropylene (Actionbac®)

On Subfloor Surfaces that are Concrete (clean and fully cured) Max. MVER 5lbs./1000 sq ft/24 hours, pH 7.0-9.0,  Asphalt Paving (clean and fully cured), Other clean, sound paving surfaces,  Fiberglass*, Aluminum* and Marine Grade Plywood

* Clean and lightly abrade to provide for a mechanical bond

Are there subfloors I should research more thoroughly before applying an adhesive?

Thorough research is always valuable prior to a new type of installation. Do not use over asphalt roofing or pressure treated wood decking. Before beginning installations with backing systems or over sub-floors not mentioned above, please contact your Infinity Sales representative for recommendations.

Any steps before actually starting to use the adhesive?

It is essential that good adhesive contact be achieved. A 100% transfer of floor adhesive into the backing while maintaining full coverage of the floor must be obtained. On stiff or backings that have curling tendencies, flooring should be laid into the adhesive immediately after spreading and laid open for up to 30 minutes before reapplying to floor. This method ensures adhesive transfer to improve installation.

If I make a mistake, can it be fixed?

In most cases, yes.  If it is wet adhesive, remove with warm water.  For dry adhesive , seek an Adhesive Remover.
